Sallene, Drip?

Lol crap pun. First and foremost, happy birthday to me, yay etc. I’m officially into my twenties and am perfectly justified in growing a beard, getting a beer belly, sleeping with 14 year olds and joyriding whatever sports car I fancy to quell my midlife crisis. Also, props to Glorinsson on Argent Dawn for spreading the word on how great we are, more like that please.

 

Now, after exposure to this level of retardation, arrogance and persistence, you would be in need of medical help. Sallene of Aszune seems to think that reading tactics, being prepared and generally having gear is completely irrelevant when it comes to raid content. He/she/it is absolutely convinced that all of this, considered general practice for 99% of normal people, shouldn’t be taken into consideration when HE/SHE/IT is raiding. Admittedly, PuGs these days tend to be pretty up themselves, wanting you to link Epic and Conqueror of Icecrown achievements just to do Razuvious in good ol’ Naxx 10. However, he/she/it argues that gear progression is nonsense and unless you can provide ‘the numbers’, he’s perfectly justified in MTing in whatever he likes with cold, hard self-belief. So, logically at least, you’d think that with wanting to raid with the bare minimum gear and go in with no tactics you’d just join an end-game guild? WRONG, too much effort for no life nerds. Right. Frankly, he/she/it considers it an absolute travesty that whatever group he’s with won’t just conform to his desires, and instead choose to easymode such ‘nails’ content as Naxx 10 by using tactics and gear they’ve already gathered from the place. Shocking, just shocking. Vacc of Darksorrow pretty much summed up the whole argument by page 5:

Allene: “Woot, I proved everyone wrong, my blue gear was good enough!”

Allene: “I know, and I was awesome!”
RL: “Er…okay… So lets do loot. Well Allene you’re our only Plate tank, so here take these awesome iLvl 226 bracers. Should help a lot if you have to tank Ignis or XT.”
Allene: “No thanks.”
RL: “Uh, what?”
Allene: “I just downed a boss in the hardest tier of content in my gear, I see no reason to upgrade.”
RL: “But…they’re massively better than that blue bracer you have now…”
Allene: “No thanks, just dis it.”
RL: “…..”
RL: “…”
RL: “……………………………”
Allene has been kicked from the guild.

So what have we learned from this sorry episode? Tactics are ruining fun? gear is irrelevant? Egotistical idiots demand special treatment, but then we knew that already. No, loyal readers, no. The most shocking revelation is that Naxx 10 is in fact STILL serious business this far into its lifespan, and clearly ghetto easymode rehashed content still attracts people in their droves. So who was saying WoW was on life support?
